Richard Liedle has been affiliated with YOUNG PERFORMERS STUDIO since 1995 and as our master and lead instructor has been instrumental in developing some of the finest young actors on the west coast for over a decade. 

A triple threat performer, Richard has expertise in singing, dance and movement as well as acting for the stage and screen. He has performed on stages throughout the United States and in Europe and has performed in film and television as well.

One of the busiest and most energetic directors in America will be in Seattle on Saturday August 8 & 9 to meet Seattle talent and teach them some great on-camera skills and strategies for success. TOM LOGAN is a fabulous instructor who packs every workshop with tons of information and FUN!
A former child actor, Tom transitioned to adult actor and director and for the past 2 decades has conducted valuable research to pass along to actors who want to have a competitive edge in the casting studio. Lots of little secrets not shared by others-- valuable tips on how to get hired -- and then hired again and again!

How to slate/ moving on camera,  handling commercial copy, delivery  of commercial copy, understanding how to convey energy without being over the top

1:00- 2:30 p.m. "The Business of the Business --Secrets to Success"  $30
this session is designed for parents of younger kids and the older participants coming for 3: 00 session
 
3:00 - 7:00 On camera/ commercial and FILM skills for ages 11 & older  $95
This longer session is for teens and adults who will work on BOTH commercial skills and a TV or film scene with a partner. Emphasis is on understanding how to move well on camera, the different types of shooting done for film, utilization of human qualities and developing BELIEVABLE characters as well as understanding what's needed when being filmed so that editing can be done, etc...   (Limited to 12 participants)
 
SUNDAY  AUG 9
 
11:30- 4:00 p.m. ADVANCED WORKSHOP IN FILM AND TV SKILLS:  $125
This workshop is designed for kids,teens and adults who have completed at least one other session with Tom Logan or who get special approval to participate with this group. Greater emphasis will be on TV and film scenes with partners. (Limited to 14 participants)

How to breakdown TV and film scenes for auditions and performances that will ring true and believable. A step-by-step approach that strengthens any actor's performance. Taught by Rachel Glenn who has appeared in many films and television episodes as a child and teen and has become a favorite teacher at YPS in Los Angeles. Class includes a blend of improv with scripted work with a quick review of commercial/on-camera work as well. Rachel will also review audition dynamics, audition confidence and cold reading skills. Every class is tailored to the skill level of each individual participant.KNOW CROW? We'll take you to the next level!

Donnajeanne Goheen is director of YOUNG PERFORMERS STUDIO and a manager for some of the busiest kids in Hollywood. Many of the kids and teens seen on TV and in films today have trained at YPS ~ Nathan Kress on "iCarly", David Henrie on "Wizards", Joy Lauren on "Desperate Housewives", Hunter Parrish on "Weeds", the Panabaker and Michalka sisters from Disney, Carter Jenkins, Tanner Blaze Daveigh Chase and more. Former Seattle teens Corina Boettger will be seen on "My Name is Earl" next month as will Andy Gobienko on "Without a Trace".  Watch for 11 year old Britt Flatmo who moved to L.A. in summer 2007 and has commercials airing now as well as two films coming out later this year.

1:30 - 5:30 p.m. BEYOND THE BASICS

For those who have worked with Richard previously or completed the Intro session, this intensive will challenge participants to really apply the mapping steps that Richard has outlined and to fully understand what is necessary to develop truthful and believable characters. All participants must come with a 1-2 minute memorized monologue. If you need help finding a monologue let us know, we'll email something.

HOLLYWOOD TALENT MANAGER Donnajeanne Goheen will be in Seattle again on Friday, February 29 and Saturday March 1.  To learn more about Donnajeanne and the success of her clients visit the Young Performers Studio website.
CONSULTATIONS and TALENT ASSESSMENTS
 
ON FRIDAY, Donnajeanne will schedule private consultations and talent assessments with young actors ages 6  to 18. Each private session will include a talent assessment and recommendations in how to determine readiness for the Los Angeles market as well as suggestions for maximizing opportunities in the Northwest. Performers will be asked to perform a monologue as well as to cold read a commercial and/or scene provided by Donnajeanne a few days before the appointment. A review of marketing materials including headshots and resume is included. A written evaluation  and suggestions for success will be sent following the meeting.
 
The fee for this consultation is $75 for one child or $110 for
two siblings sharing a time block.
Times available are between 12 noon and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29.  Please email a request for consultation prior to February 20.
 
 
BEYOND THE BASICS WORKSHOP
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 1, Donnajeanne will conduct a 5 hour workshop for RETURNING Students or those invited from the consultations on Friday. This 5-hour intensive will include both on-camera/commercial work as well as TV-film scenework. This workshop is designed for ages 10 and older but 2 younger performers will be enrolled based on experience and prior classes with Donnajeanne. Space is limited to 12- 14 students , depending on age of participants.
